Canada 'alarmed' by crackdown in Tibet

Module body

Mon Mar 17, 10:09 AM

OTTAWA (AFP) - Canada's foreign affairs minister on Monday expressed dismay at rising violence reported in Tibet, and urged China to respect Tibetans' right to peaceful protest.

"The government of Canada is alarmed at the deteriorating situation, including increasing reports of violence," Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier said in a statement.

"We urge restraint," he said. "I have called on the government of China to respect the right of Tibetans to protest peacefully and to take steps to improve the human rights situation in Tibet."

China's ambassador in Ottawa and the Chinese government through Canada's embassy in Beijing have been informed of Canada's unease, he added.

Meanwhile, Canadians have been warned not to travel to Tibet because of safety concerns due to the turmoil.

Hey Saivite,
OM NAMAH SHIVAYA. It is Shivaratri here at Mother Kashi. I would say trial and error is the way to go, the program reformats the image into a nearly square template so you may want to consider that and crop your image in a square so you know what will be included.

Blacksmithing- pics for you~

Namaste,

The first one is what we started with: a square, long rod of steel.
Next will be the finished work.
Then a close up of the hilt, the blade and one pic of me holding the Athame to give an idea of size.

It is wrapped with copper and leather and the end of the hilt has a very fiery piece of citrine!

Thanks guys for letting me share!~

Pisces New Moon on March 7th

Namaste All,

This is a kicker! The first Moon after the Lunar Eclpise and it's a doozy, here are some links for you:

I am blessed to be leading a New Moon Ritual on Saturday and it's been great preparing for it. In my ecclectic wiccan tradition, a feminine and masculine deity are invited into the space and I chose our Beloved Mother Ganga and Lord Skanda.… Continue

Namaste All~Today I Was A Blacksmith

Namaste Beloved Beloveds ;)

For those who don't know me very well, I have a very ecelctic practice in my LOVE for the Divine beginning with the Great Mother Earth when I was very young (earliest memories around 3 or 4). My parents were Methodist church goers, therefore, so was I. However, there wasn't a lot of 'juice' as Ma would say so I left around 13 or so choosing the church of nature! When I started 'waking up' I found my first teacher, Grandfather Yellowhorseman (Cherokee/Creek tradition)… Continue
